This beautiful building was built on the border of the 19th and 20th centuries in the style of late historicism. It mainly contained cafes, restaurants and hotels. The first cafe in Drohobych and Shorr`s Grand Hotel Europe were opened here. Afterwards, there was Shongolts`s cafe, which was considered a city informal stock exchange. In the Soviet time there was the cafe “Youth”, and later the restaurant “Ukraine”.

The building has exquisite sculptural décor, in particular, mascaron ornaments of women and a boy (above the entrance to the former hotel). The building is an architectural monument of local value.
